1988 has been another year of tremendous change for our family. We have moved again! We are now residents of Florida, in the Daytona Beach area (1081 George Anderson, Ormond Beach, FL 32074). Most of us, that is - we left Jessy in Houston where she is attending college at Houston Community College and working for an accounting firm. Bennie is presently stationed in Norfolk, VA with the Navy. He will be transferred to the Alameda Naval Air Station in Oakland, CA early next year. Bennie is also engaged and will be married on January 21 to Lisa Browning in Memphis, TN. Hopefully, we will see many of you there. I have taken a new job with a manufacturing company here, so the move to Florida was not to retire.
As with all of our other moves, we have left behind some really close friends, especially our neighbors in Quail Valley and our friends at New Hope Lutheran Church. They were all such a close part of our lives in Texas. We very much miss having them all next door.
April started out her school year in Florida by getting straight A's! She's been selected to be on the school's "Board of Excellence" and she is involved with managing the girl's basketball team. She sings in the school choir and last weekend, this choir sang at Walt Disney World in Orlando. She spent two days at Disney World and Epcot Center.
Joy and Nicole are both attending the local elementary school. They seem to have a really good program. Joy exhibited in the Science Fair and was awarded a Merit Award. Nicole was in the cast of "The Nutcracker" presented at the school and she is really active in the YMCA swimming team.
Jan and I have been busy since we moved trying to get settled in a new job and community. We are living in a rural area outside of town in a smaller house than we have been used to, so we have furniture everyplace yet. I'm still working on family genealogies and histories and would love to hear from other family members about our ancestors, our past and all new additions to the families.
Our family will not be all together for Christmas for the first time. Bennie was just home for the weekend but won't be back at Christmas. Jessy is flying in on Thursday and will be here for a few days until after Christmas.
We miss all of you.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
